Michael Tiedemann

Michael has always been a proponent of innovation and finding a better way to serve clients. His visionary leadership that led to the creation of Alvarium Tiedemann | AlTi is supplemented by his considerable experience as a founder and executive. In 2000, Michael co-founded Tiedemann Advisors, where he served as CEO and Chairman of the Internal Investment Committee. Later, he also became CEO at Tiedemann Investment Group (TIG). His openness to the world has manifested early on in his career by living in Brazil for two years and working in the equity research group at Banco Garantia (which was later acquired by Credit Suisse), before returning to New York to run their equity sales and trading operations for Latin America.

Michael believes that everyone can have a role in making this world and our communities a better place. He founded and chairs The River Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides food, education and support services to help families in New Yor City break the cycle of poverty. Michael’s passion for giving back is palatable and he has been recognized for his contribution to charitable causes by multiple organization.

Michael lives in Manhattan with his wife and four children.
